Our team created and coach two all-girl FIRST LEGO League teams, passing robotics down to the youngest students in our community.
FIRST LEGO League is where a lot of girls first fall in love with STEM. Elementary and middle schoolers build and program LEGO robots, tackle a real-world research challenge, and learn what it feels like to solve a problem as a team.
Last season our Gear Girls built two all-girl FLL teams from the ground up, Flower STEMs and Lego Ninjas, and coached them through the season. Running a team as a high schooler is a real commitment. Our girls plan the meetings, teach the building and coding, guide the research project, and get their teams ready for competition.
